Dedicated server hosting
Dedicated Server Hosting
GoWeb can provide dedicated server hosting for you, giving you a powerful Internet server dedicated entirely to your use.
Unlike some hosting providers who offer a virtual segment of a physical machine, we can offer a true physical server entirely dedicated to you.
GoWeb will manage the installation of initial software onto the server for you. If required, we can also carry out regular updates of the installed software to current release versions.

Server specifications
Each and every dedicated server we provide is built new to your specifications.
Consequently, we are happy to customise a server to your needs and should you require additional disk space, CPU speed or any other changes these can normally be accommodated in a short space of time.
Dedicated server specifications - hardware
Please note these are minimum standard specifications we provide as at August 2005.
Servers may have higher specifications (e.g. faster CPU, more disk space) depending on market prices and stock availability. You are also welcome to request higher (or lower) specifications when placing your order if you have specific needs.
- 3.0 GHz Intel CPU (or 3.0 Ghz, 3.2Ghz, 3.4Ghz, dual Xeon)
- 512 MB ECC server RAM (1 GB, 2 GB, 4 GB and beyond)
- 80 GB hard disk capacity (options for individual drives of 80 GB, 120 GB, 200 GB, 250 GB, 300 GB)
- Hard drives arranged either as standalone or RAID depending on your requirements
- 10/100/1000 Mbps (Gigabit Ethernet) Intel ethernet adaptor
- Quality server components throughout with server systems available based on Asus, Supermicro, HP Proliant, IBM.
Dedicated server specifications - facility
- Location of your dedicated server within our advanced hosting facility for excellent physical security, power redundancy and environmental control.
- Dedicated server are normally colocated at the SP Telecom IDC in Kent St, Sydney CBD, or Fujitsu Internet Data Centre (IDC) in North Ryde, Sydney.
- For lower cost bandwidth or proximity to global markets we also offer local dedicated servers from other markets world-wide.
- We also offer a service for maximum redundancy where multiple servers can be located in different geographic regions (e.g. Sydney + Tokyo + Amsterdam) with automatic replication of database and filesystem contents to ensure extremely high availability.
- More detailed specifications of the colocation facilities can also be found on our Sydney colocation page.
Dedicated server specifications - network
- 100 Mbps Fast Ethernet interconnection to our network infrastructure which includes a minimum of 1 Gbps of connectivity to the local Internet backbone
- Web-based real-time traffic monitoring of your network utilisation (inbound and outbound) using mrtg
- Free outbound traffic from some data centre locations (in some cases subject to 5:1 outbound to inbound ratio, e.g. 10 GB of paid inbound traffic allows for 50 GB free outbound)
- Competitively priced inbound traffic rate and various traffic models available to suit your traffic profile.
- Traffic pricing available on a per-megabyte basis for actual data or on a per-Mbps (Megabit per second) pipe-size basis.
Dedicated server specifications - software
